Meet Our Directors
We are proud to offer a range of sporting activities for the community in a safe and welcoming environment. Our team of directors is dedicated to creating a supportive and fun atmosphere for everyone that joins us. Here is some deeper background around the friendly faces behind the running of DOSportUK.
Jacob Meaton
Managing Director
Jacob is the founder and creator of DOSportUK. Having a background in coaching from the age of 19, Jacob has been working within disability sport for 12 years.
Â
Jacob is currently undertaking his degree in Learning Disability Nursing and Social Work which he hopes to link into the company in the near future and help better the lives of people with a disability across Derbyshire and Greater Manchester.Â
Jon Stonebridge
Non-executive Director
Jon brings a wealth of basketball experience to the table. Having played professionally in the UK for the majority of his adult life, Jon knows the game inside and out. It was in this period where Jon started to coach people with an intellectual disability and eventually ended up as the disability officer for Basketball England. This is when he and Jacob became acquainted and together, with Paul, set up DOSportUK.

Paul Meaton
Non-executive Director
Having had experience in the early stages of his working career (just a few years ago...) in supporting people with a learning disability, Paul has since gone on to study in employment law and currently works as a trade union representative for the Royal College of Nursing.
Â
Paul's knowledge and expertise help shape the company in the background and allows DOSportUK to continue to grow and thrive. Also the father of Jacob of course!

Beth Burrell
Executive Director
Beth has been a member of DOSportUK from the very beginning and we are delighted to welcome her into our team of directors. As a member of Champions Sports Club and Manchester Eagles, Beth has been engaging in sport with us for over 6 years!
Â
Beth is a qualified basketball coach and has had experience in delivering sessions across a range of settings for us at DOSportUK. Beth is looking to become more involved with DOSportUK and help shape the work we do in the future.Â
Alan Collins
Executive Director
Alan has also been a member of DOSportUK from the early stages and is a member of our Chesterfield Sabres inclusive basketball group. Outside of DOSportUK, Alan also helps improve the lives of people with an intellectual disability as part of the local and county partnership teams, having helped contribute to positive changes across the county. Alan is also looking to become more involved with DOSportUK and help shape the work we do in the future.Â
